In order to complete a comprehensive assessment, you will be first asked some questions about you, your health and your pain. It would help if you bought in a list of any medication that you are taking. Then a physical examination will take place, assessing overall posture, general movement and specific testing of your problem area. Following an explanation of your diagnosis and discussion with you about your treatment options, we will work together to start towards recovery.
It would be helpful for yout to wear loose, comfortable clothing. It may be necessary to remove some clothing during the assessment to observe and feel the affected tissues [many female patients prefer to wear a vest top]. We would never ask you to do anything that you are not comfortable with.
The majority of the time it is absolutely fine to self-refer to physiotherapy; the exception is some insurance companies require a GP referral, please check your terms and conditions before booking. Should any issues arise that require your GP's attention, with your consent, a letter will be sent and the GPs are more than happy to work with us to provide the best care for our patients.

We offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments and try out best to accommodate our patient's schedules.
Yes! We believe that continuity is absolutely vital along the patient journey [ in the occasional case of therapist leave we will explain your appointment options to you].
Yes! We provide physiotherapy for pregnancy related conditions such as pelvic pain and lower back pain as well as ongoing problems and injuries throughout pregnancy. We are taught how to position pregnant ladies sensibly during assessment and treatment so that they are comfortable and treatment remains effective.
This depends on condition but in the majority of cases, exercises form a part of treatment, alongside other physiotherapy techniques. We tend to prescribe exercises that compliment the treatment that we have done in clinic with an aim to enhance recovery. It is important that you try to do your exercises, we will try and make them as simple as possible for you.
